New Story That Inspires: Not Yet

Notes for the day:

Steady start to the week to the challenge, slight twinge in left hamstring and same issues with back hence the walk rather than the run. Beautiful walk the beauty of Scotland never fails to amaze! Some much needed food for the sole!

New Story That Inspires: Not Yet

Notes for the day:

2 Days in and I am route planning, dragging my beautiful wife along for the ride! A new place visited in Woodhill Wood Park (tick) but still struggling slightly with my hamstring and back so another walk 7KM this time round but also a steady (see how I go) 5KM then straight into the hot tub for a quick dip and some bubbles on them muscles.

Business still presents its challenges and we are now in the football off season so busier than ever as we try to build and get funds in for the new season.

New Story That Inspires: Not Yet

Notes for the day:

A day stuck in my box (my office) consisting of , Teams, calls, development (although this element is some welcomed positivity) some more calls, a few more calls, with a sprinkle of Teams to finish of, one thing it does highlight with the steps total however is how much I pace when on the phone, I had some of the team up late afternoon for deliveries into Scotland so time wasn't a friend when it came to exercise but i did get out for a 10:30pm 5KM run when team and family had gone to bed so not all bad with a 1 mile PB of 7:34

Notes for the day:

The team hit the road fairly early which meant so did I, 5KM trail run down before anyone was up, followed by a 6.5KM walk later in the afternoon, back still playing up as is hamstring but only before and after, during the run there doesn't seem to be a problem maybe it has something to do with whats bouncing around in my head or my incredible supporters that you see to the left bringing the noise and cheering me on or the beauty of the route taken, which would actually make an incredible running route........ 😶😉

Rest of the day in the office, a day spent doing lots of everything achieving little or nothing but a positive evening spent with Pat, Mark and some of the Shire board going through the projection and ideas for next season. Heading now to the final section of the week and the final few days of the challenge, inspiration needed for the final push!

KM: Nothing to report today (Not that I logged anyway)

New Unexplored Area: Kennet

New Story That Inspires:

Notes for the day:

A disappointing day, a niggling day, had to take the van for an MOT early afternoon so went for a walk in the sunshine in Kennet, through the woods, exploring somewhere I hadn't been before discussing what future opportunities there maybe on the horizon with my wife. Nothing logged however but a nice hour of Carrie/Simon time before I headed back to the office and subsequently received a phone call that would set the tone for the weekend, a call that I couldn't shake.

New Story That Inspires: Not Yet

Notes for the day:

Another day I go to battle! That phone call of Friday still ringing in my ears, how do I help? How do I support? What is best for them? What is best for us? How do we move forward?

A 13KM run probably left me with more questions running through my head than answers but at least it was productive, at least I was hurting in body not just in mind. I can only tell you the route run based on my Garmin watch, I just ran, the evening was spent with friends and was a welcome distraction although I took it to the extreme when knocking them back, I lasted most of the night before being carried home like a complete plonka! BUT, Sunday is a new day and an opportunity for a fresh start.

New Story That Inspires: Brian Banks - (Film)

Come As You Are - (Film)

Notes for the day:

The day after the night before, to say I woke up with a slight lack of knowledge of the night previous, bleary eyed and foggy head is an understatement, however I did get myself going for a 5KM run later in the afternoon which if I am honest wasn't pleasant but before this as I sat on the sofa contemplating the decisions made and phone call previous I though I would pop a film or 2 on as I unwind and this is where my inspiration for the week came from!

2 Completely different films, both based on true stories and both incredible in there own way and both I would highly recommended watching so I wont go into detail to spoil them but trailers are below to watch. What it did get me thinking about was......

Individuality is so important in this world but being an individual is not. It doesn't matter who you are, your story, personality, determination, drive, talent or circumstance, we all need that 1 opportunity, that 1 person to believe, to risk, to support, to unlock that door, now it is on us to make sure we open it but we all need that somebody, we all need that....

Summary of the week:

A positive start to the week although some slight twinges here and there, made some real inroads to route planning and bringing some ideas to fruition, end of the week was tough as most weeks have been so far this year, a lot learnt, a lot more learning to do, finding out more about myself, my limits and what needs to happen for future progression, inspired as always by others and their stories, taking inspiration and perspective from the films watched, and set out to do what I needed to do in completing the challenge set.

Here is to everyone else and their challenges completed, #Together we achieve.
